Replacing VPN Access with Zero Trust for a Multi-Site Operation

Zero Trust

Replacing VPN for every worker

The Challenge

A multi-site manufacturer needed staff working from home and from satellite locations to reach internal systems securely. The existing setup relied on a traditional VPN client extended one connection at a time to each new remote worker — with no segmentation between users and no way to verify device trust before granting network access.

Our Approach

Khartek replaced VPN access with a Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) model: every user and device is authenticated before reaching a specific application, never the whole network. Policies were extended to all staff — not just remote workers — closing a gap common to VPN-only setups, where the office network stays flat while only remote access gets modernized.

The Outcome

Every worker — not just remote staff — now authenticates per-application through Zero Trust, with no flat network left for an attacker to move through.
